Hannah Ward, naturopath at Sprout Natural Health

Sprout’s naturopathy is delivered online, Australia-wide, with Hannah Ward, a degree-qualified naturopath with a Master of Reproductive Medicine. We work mainly with women on their hormones, cycles, fertility, pregnancy, thyroid, gut, and the energy and mood changes that come with all of it.

Most people who book have already tried a few things before they get to us. They’ve often been told their blood tests are “normal” but don’t feel well in their day-to-day life. That’s exactly the kind of picture naturopathic care is built for. We start from wherever you are and look at why your body is responding the way it is.

Naturopathy for women’s health and hormones

A lot of women come to Hannah because they know something’s off but they’ve been told their blood work is “normal.” Sometimes everything genuinely is fine. But when it isn’t, or when you want to understand what’s actually going on underneath, that’s where a naturopathic approach has room to spend time.

Hannah looks at the full picture: cycle length, ovulation signs, the quality of each phase, where symptoms cluster, and how things like sleep, stress, and digestion feed into it. She uses functional testing where it helps to fill in the gaps, then works with diet, lifestyle, targeted nutrition, and herbal medicine. She doesn’t over-prescribe; the aim is to get you well and keep you there, not leave you relying on a cupboard full of supplements.

PCOS

PCOS is one of the most common things Hannah sees, and it tends to present quite differently from woman to woman. Some have irregular or absent cycles. Some have the classic blood sugar dysregulation, that energy crash after meals, the carb cravings, weight that shifts more easily to the middle. Some have the skin and hair changes that come with raised androgens.

Care here brings together functional testing, dietary and lifestyle changes, and herbal and nutritional support, tailored to which part of the picture is driving things for you. For women who also want acupuncture alongside, Hannah works closely with our in-house acupuncturists at the Paradise Point clinic.

Endometriosis

Endo is one of those conditions that tends to get dismissed for years before someone actually looks into it properly. The pain can be really significant, and it often doesn’t respond the way you’d expect to standard pain relief. Naturopathic care is used alongside your specialist’s management. The focus is on supporting the cycle, settling inflammation where we can, and making the day-to-day more manageable.

Fertility and preconception

Fertility is an area where preparation matters. For women trying to conceive naturally, the focus tends to be on cycle regularity, ovulation, and the luteal phase, that second half of the cycle where progesterone needs to hold up long enough to support implantation. Preconception is also the window where egg quality and overall health can be supported in the months before trying.

For women partway through IVF, or preparing for a cycle, Hannah works alongside your fertility specialist rather than instead of them. Functional testing can be organised remotely so the plan is built on what’s actually happening for you.

Coming off the pill

Coming off the pill can be a bit of an unknown. Cycles that take a while to return, skin that flares, mood that shifts while your body finds its own rhythm again. Naturopathic support here is about helping that natural hormonal rhythm re-establish, rather than reaching for something that simply masks the symptoms. It’s often a slower process, and Hannah is upfront about what to expect.

Pregnancy and postpartum

Through pregnancy, care tends to centre on nutrition and supporting both mum and bub safely as things change trimester to trimester. The fourth trimester is something Hannah takes seriously. Postpartum depletion, that bone-tired, nothing-left-in-the-tank feeling that’s more than just broken sleep, is real, and recovery after birth takes longer than most people expect. The work here is about replenishing, gently, over time.

Your first appointment

What to expect

Online consultations are held via secure video using Google Meet, so you can see Hannah from wherever you are. The initial consultation runs for around an hour. She takes a full health history. Not just the main reason you’ve booked, but sleep, digestion, stress levels, cycle patterns, and anything else that gives a picture of how things are sitting for you overall.

After the consultation, a personalised treatment plan is sent out by email. Where appropriate, prescribed herbs and supplements are dispensed and delivered express straight to your home, and any functional testing can be organised remotely and reviewed at your follow-up.

At the end of the first session you’ll get a sense of how many consultations Hannah would suggest for your situation. That varies. Some people want short-term, targeted support; others benefit from ongoing care over several months, and she’s upfront about that so you know what you’re getting into.

Follow-up consultations are used to review progress and adjust the plan as your health changes.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need to be located near the clinic to book an online consultation?

No. Online consultations are available Australia-wide and can be accessed regardless of location.

How are online consultations conducted?

Consultations are held online via Google Meet. This allows time for discussion, assessment, and ongoing review in much the same way as an in-person appointment.

Can testing be organised through online consultations?

Where appropriate, functional testing can be organised remotely and results reviewed during follow-up consultations.

How do I receive my products if I’m not local?

Personalised herbs and supplements can be dispensed and delivered express straight to your home.

How many consultations will I need?

The number of consultations varies. Some people seek short-term, targeted support, while others benefit from ongoing care. This is discussed individually and reviewed over time.

What if online care isn’t the right fit for my needs?

If online naturopathy isn’t the most suitable option, this is discussed openly so alternative approaches or in-person care can be considered where appropriate.

How it works from anywhere

Available Australia-wide

Naturopathy at Sprout is delivered entirely online, so where you live doesn’t change the care you get. Consultations run over secure video, treatment plans come to you by email, and prescribed herbs and supplements are dispensed and delivered express straight to your door.

We’re based in Paradise Point on the Gold Coast and see women from right across Australia, whether you’re local, interstate, or somewhere rural where this kind of care is harder to find in person. Functional testing can be organised remotely so your plan is built on what’s actually going on for you.
