Why Choose us?
What’s involved in an acupuncture session at Sprout?
Sessions run for around 50–60 minutes and include a mix of diagnosis, hands-on work, and time to rest. No two treatments are the same—they shift and adapt based on how your body responds over time. We often use a combination of acupuncture, moxibustion, and cupping to get the best results for you.
Gentle & Effective
We use a gentle Japanese style of acupuncture that’s focused on your main health concerns while also calming the nervous system. Treatments are deeply relaxing and supportive, designed to help your body shift into a state where healing can happen more easily.

Acupuncture is a gentle, effective way to support your body through the fertility and pregnancy journey. We use it to regulate cycles, support implantation, improve blood flow, ease stress, and help prepare the body for conception—whether naturally or through IVF. During pregnancy, treatments are tailored to support each stage, from easing nausea and fatigue to helping with sleep, pain, or birth preparation. Postnatally, acupuncture can assist with recovery, energy, and emotional wellbeing. Wherever you’re at, we’re here to support you with treatments that are grounded, nurturing, and responsive to your changing needs.
Acupuncture is well known for its calming effect on the nervous system. We use gentle techniques to help shift your body out of fight-or-flight and into a more regulated, restful state. Treatments are tailored to support anxiety, stress, and panic—working with the body's natural rhythms to create more ease, stability, and emotional resilience over time.
"Acupuncture is a gentle, effective way to manage chronic pain. It helps reduce inflammation, improve circulation, and ease tension in the body—whether you're dealing with arthritis, injury, fibromyalgia, or ongoing musculoskeletal pain. Each treatment is tailored to your symptoms and how your body responds over time. We focus on both short-term relief and long-term support, helping your body heal and stay more balanced over time."
If you’re feeling constantly drained, wired but tired, or like you’re running on empty no matter how much rest you get, acupuncture can offer real support. These sessions are designed to calm an overworked nervous system, support deeper sleep, and gently restore your energy over time. We tailor each treatment to where your body’s at—whether you're recovering from long-term stress, burnout, post-viral fatigue, or just feel like you’ve hit a wall. The aim is steady, sustainable recovery that helps you feel more like yourself again.

FAQ’s
-
If used correctly acupuncture is a safe and relatively painless treatment. The needles used are much thinner than the needles used for injections or blood tests, most are 0.14mm thick, similar thickness to a strand of human hair. Most people report feeling little to no pain during the insertion of the needles. You may feel a slight pinch or prick, followed by a sensation of dull pressure or warmth around the needle.
Some people may experience a slight ache, tingling, or heaviness around the needle insertion site, but this sensation usually fades within a few minutes and is totally safe. Rarely, some individuals may experience mild bruising, bleeding, or soreness at the site of needle insertion.
If you are considering acupuncture and have concerns about pain or discomfort, it is important to discuss these concerns with Conor. He can work with you to ensure that you are comfortable during the procedure and can adjust the treatment as necessary to minimize any discomfort.

For acute conditions, such as a recent injury or illness, more frequent treatments may be necessary initially, such as one to two times per week for a few weeks. Chronic conditions, such as ongoing pain or stress, may require regular weekly or bi-weekly treatments for an extended period.
Ultimately, the frequency and duration of acupuncture treatments will depend on the individual's unique health needs, goals, and response to the therapy. Conor can work with you to develop a personalised treatment plan that is tailored to your specific needs and goals.

Ideally, you should wear clothing that can be easily rolled up or down, such as a loose-fitting shirt and pants or shorts. Avoid tight-fitting clothing, as this can make it difficult for the acupuncturist to access the areas being treated. Additionally, avoid wearing heavy jewellery or accessories that may interfere with the treatment.

If you have a private health plan that covers acupuncture you can claim a portion of your consult back. We have a HICAPS terminal in the clinic so you can claim on the spot! Medicare is not the same as private health, unfortunately you can not claim any portion on your treatment back with medicare.
